What we Believe
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. (Acts 2:42)
We believe that Christ’s church must be devoted to these same things:
- The apostles teachings: the reading and obedience to God’s Word, the Bible.
- The fellowship: Loving one another as Jesus loved us.
- The breaking of bread: Remembering Jesus through communion and through our lives.
- Prayer: Praying to God on a regular basis as our ultimate source of strength.
OUR PURPOSEOur Eternal Purpose is to know God and to glorify him as God, and let our life shine so others will see God. Our devotion and ultimate loyalties are to the Father, who is over all and in all and through all; to Jesus the Son, who has been declared both Lord and Christ; and to the Holy Spirit, who lives in us and empowers us to overcome the workings of the sinful nature.
OUR MISSIONOur mission is to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind & strength & to love our neighbor as ourselves. As commissioned by Jesus, we will go make disciples of all nations, baptize them and teach them to obey all the commands until they reach maturity in Christ. We will extend the grace of God through compassionate service to the poor. Led by the Holy Spirit, we will endeavor to advance the Kingdom of God and pass our faith on to the generations to come.
OUR RESPONSEAs disciples of Jesus, we surrender our lives to his Lordship. We rejoice in our adoption as God’s children, and each accepts the call to be holy and follow the example of Jesus.
